Clean My Mac by Removing Unwanted Files and Applications

Most of the Mac users are not aware of the reasons behind slow performance of their Mac. I recently changed my company and got a job in another bank as a manager. This company uses Mac instead of  PCs. One day, as I switched on my Mac, it took long time to load and other applications were also working very slowly. Then I realized that I should restart the system once but the performance of the system was same even after restarting. When this did not help, I performed a search on the Internet about reasons of slow Mac performance.

While searching, I found that startup items can be the cause of slow Mac performance. In Mac, some of the applications automatically set themselves as startup application. This causes them to load at every start which eventually decreases the performance of Mac. To avoid this, the items should be removed from ‘Login Items’.

The web link also mentioned that the major reason for slow performance can be unused large sized files and duplicate files. In Mac, whenever a large sized file is stored, operating system divides it into small pieces and creates links between them. Thus, whenever such files are accessed, OS takes time to fetch the data, which decreases the performance of Mac. Also, duplicate files can be the reason of slow performance.

As I am a beginner to Mac so it was not possible for me to find option to clean startup items. Also, it is not possible to find and delete duplicate and large files on hard drive which has large storage capacity. So I searched on the Internet again to get a solution for this problem and found that there are some software that claim to remove such files and speed up Mac performance.

Luckily, a list of such tools was also available in the web link and some of the software were available with a free demo version. I tried some of them and selected Stellar Speedup Mac. Stellar SpeedUp Mac allows removing unwanted large files and duplicating files easily. Moreover, this tool provides an option to preview the data such as photos, music and video files before cleaning them from system.
