Upgrade to OS X Lion From Mac App Store

This is the time when excitement is at fullest, the time after announcement and before the actual  launching! And if this announcement is about Mac OS X Lion then excitement got actual reasons to fly high. This is time when rumors are very active, some days back rumors was that Lion is going to enter in Mac world on 14th July 2011 but it wouldn't! While surfing web  I found  new thread “OS X Lion release date set for Thursday” but substance in the news is hard to measure. However Apple never made such promises they only said is:  "OS X Lion will ship in July"

Where you find OS X Lion
Apple said to install Lion on your Mac you need not to visit any store neither need to play with  bunch of CDs or DVDs, all you need to do is two clicks! One the App Store icon on your Mac  and other on “buy Lion for $29.99” and thats all!

But before going for these two clicks you have to some checks in your Mac:
Check whether Your Mac can run Lion: Make sure your Mac have one of the following processor:  Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon. It is necessary condition to run the Lion so before going for upgrade make sure about it. For this click Apple icon and choose first option “About This Mac” (Fig 1.1). If in case you forget to check and your Mac do not have one of the above processor chances of data loss in your Mac is very high.

Check the Version of Snow leopard: Make sure you are using latest version of snow leopard i.e. Snow leopard version 10.6.8. If not, update your snow leopard before installing the OS X Lion. For this click Apple Icon and choose second option “Software Update (fig 1.1)”

Make sure you have created Backup: During the software upgrade very intensive read/write operation takes place on the hard drive and so chances of data loss is maximum. Therefore it is an nice idea to create backup copy of your whole data. Cloning could be smartest solution available for this purpose. You can use any third party tool such as Stellar Clone to achieve the same.

Check for copy of data recovery software: This is an optional part  if you have already created clone of your whole hard drive but if in case you forget to make backup copy the only one who can help you is Mac data recovery software. Or there may be case that you have created the backup and due to any reason your “client records” file is not present in that backup due to reason you was reading (or forget to close) that “client record” file when it was cloning the same. To recover that particular file you will need data recovery software. Not only this if you have started installation process of the Lion and your processor is not as per minimum requirement needed for the Lion then you may need a professional data recovery program! Hence it is a good idea to make yourself prepare for any such circumstances.

Download OS X Lion from Mac App store:
Soon after release of Mac OS X Lion, click on Mac App store present on the  Dock to buy and download the OS X Lion only at $29.99! Then install the Lion as guided on screen options.
