The iCloud is one of the biggest change to be announced by Apple. Of course it  is technology enhancement and so it always recommended to keep your data safe before installing update. Keeping mac data recovery software near can save you from headache if anything went wrong due to installation failure. Happening of such failures is also not surprising event because whenever major update takes place the vast amount of heat flashes out and due to which data could become inaccessible. Hence keep yourself free for any such situation before going for installing update.

Looking the history of the Apple it is also an nice idea to wait for a week or two. Wait for other users to install and review the update and if every look satisfactory go for update. So its just a matter of one week but if you are impatient go for installing no issues but make yourself very sure that trusted data recovery software is near you and backup has been taken recently.
